This paper documents the Pathfinder/FDC project in Inhambane, Mozambique, which focused on increasing the adoption of safer sexual decision making strategies among youth through increased demand and access to information and services and to further develop the capacity of NGOs, youth associations and communities to undertake STI/HIV/AIDS prevention efforts.
The project took a peer education approach, and focused on behaviour change communications, with a complementary and reinforcing aspect of capacity building for youth associations. Interventions were aimed at male and female pre-adolescents, adolescents and young adults, including both in-school and out-of-school youth.
